Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research
IBD research targets the chronic immune-mediated inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). KPV (Lys-Pro-Val), the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH, has documented anti-inflammatory activity in DSS-colitis rodent models and small pilot human trials.
