MAZDUTIDE VS SURVODUTIDE
Mazdutide and survodutide are two parallel GLP-1 + glucagon dual receptor agonists in late-stage development, by different sponsors. Mazdutide (IBI362, Innovent Biologics under license from Eli Lilly) is in Phase 3 GLORY in China. Survodutide (BI 456906, Boehringer Ingelheim / Zealand) is in Phase 3 SYNCHRONIZE globally. Different molecules, similar mechanism, different regulatory geography.
SIDE BY SIDE
WHICH IS BETTER · BY GOAL
Mazdutide has dedicated Chinese-population Phase 2 and Phase 3 data (Zhao 2024 Phase 2 in Chinese adults; GLORY-1 met primary endpoint). Survodutide global Phase 2 was multi-region.
Survodutide Phase 2 (Sanyal 2024 NEJM) reported improved liver fat and histology endpoints. Mazdutide NASH data not yet published at equivalent depth.
Survodutide Phase 3 SYNCHRONIZE program is enrolling for global / Western approval. Mazdutide pathway is China-first via NMPA.
Survodutide 4.8 mg/wk reached -14.9% at 46 weeks. Mazdutide 9 mg/wk reached -11.1% at 24 weeks. Trial durations differ but the survodutide arm produced a larger absolute number.
STACKING NOTE
No published research stacks two GLP-1/glucagon dual agonists. They engage the same receptor pair; combined use is unstudied. Buyers researching the dual-agonist category typically order both as parallel reference compounds.
